Do you have any questions, or any experience/advice on how to achieve "top ten rankings"?

top search words

Postby raccoon » Sat Jul 22, 2006 3:42 am

Hi everyone, When I ask the question I am going to, I can hear people saying (if it was that easy we all would do it). I am asking anyway, because if you dont ask, you dont get. Now the question......
What is classed as top words for to put into your site so search engines pick them up and move your site further up the rankings. I look at different sites and use google to try to work it out but never get any clues.
I am using the "adsence" advertising from google and am starting to see some money building up. This is slow but it is free money.
Any more sugestions would be recieved gratefully.

Google (and current search engines) don't work a lot on keywords these days. While keywords are good to 'list' your website for certain searches, ranking is whole different matter.
It primarily works on 'how many other people/sites linking to your page?'
is the real key. More linkage u get, higher the rank.

Do a search on 'SEO' keyword (Search engine optimizations) and you will tons of info.

Blogs and search engines

Postby scottmprice » Mon Feb 05, 2007 2:59 pm

I have been doing blogs. Then submit them to search engines. After all they have good content. Just do articles that relate to your site and link them back to your site. Anyway, thats what I am trying, just started doing that and just made a site so not sure how good its going to work

Hi Scott, thanks for the input. Please keep me informed about your idea. Sounds a pretty sound one. Anyway, anything like that is worth trying to get your rating up.

I did a search for ranking on my site and it came back that I didn't have anything in the Header 1 and Header 2 - How do I add search terms, keywords or whatever to these two areas.

You can add Heading 1 and Heading 2 text by putting a title on your page:

"Welcome to my website", highlight the text and select the Paragraph pulldown and select Heading 1.
"Find all your resources in one place", highlight the text and select the Paragraph pulldown and select Heading 2.

Make sure you put some keywords into those titles to make it relevant to your page.

You can insert keywords and other meta data by going to the SITE menu and select Website Setup, select Advanced.

You can setup the style of the Heading 1 by using the STYLE button.

But, to apply that style to your Heading 1 on your page is to highlight the text and select the Paragraph button (pulldown) and select Heading 1.
