Adjacent images don't go to proper url links.

Postby Wayne Strnad » Mon Jan 18, 2010 1:31 pm

Hello,

I placed 5 images that were small jpg files at the top of an editable portion of a template - content area.
I then added the html reference for each image that would link to a proper page in a subfolder.

Tried the preview but it would only link properly to two of the pictures. Three of the pictures used the same link of the 5th image in the row.

Did anyone else experience such a problem?

Wayne

PS. Although you can view the html code and change it, it still showed the same results in the preview.

Please try deleting the images and try it over again. After you insert an image put a space (space on keyboard) then insert the next image.
When you want to hyperlink the image, click one image to select it, then go to the HYPERLINK button in the toolbar.

Thanks Vicki,

Tried that (space between images) but still had the same results. In fact, when I would put a space, sometimes I would see an _ between images, sometimes not.

What I ended up doing was create a table with 1 row and 5 columns. I then moved the pictures to a column. At first it didn't work so I looked at the html code and one of the items had an incorrect reference number. Actually, somehow the number got changed not by me but the software because I had the correct link; checked before I did a preview. Change happened after preview. It works with the table format now.

Does the preview set up a cache that does not rewrite itself and then when it exits, rewrite to any files that are original files? I tried what you suggested several times and even looked at the html code but the code pointed to the right pages. I don't understand how things can rewrite to something different on return from the preview.

Thanks for the help.
